Snowflake has arrived (2014)….more elf antics

Snowflake has arrived for 2014! Even though Snowflake still has a few days left with us before she leaves on Christmas, I wanted to share some of the silly things she has gotten herself into this year in case anyone needs a few last minute ideas 🙂 It took a lot more thought this year because I couldn’t repeat any of the things she did last year. I can’t imagine how much thinking I will have to do in the years to come!

NIGHT 1: Kahlen had been talking nonstop about how it was FINALLY time for her to see Snowflake again. She was a bit worried Miss Elf wouldn’t show up…that she had somehow “forgotten” about her in the last year. No worries though, she showed. And not only that but she brought Rudolph with her!! Rudolph stayed that night and would make appearances through the course of her stay…

NIGHT 2 & 3: Snowflake took a little breather and stayed in the North Pole to help Santa and the other elves. (Mom and Dad were at a Packers game so the girls stayed at the Grandparents!)

NIGHT 4: Snowflake was back and ready to rock. Kahlen and Ashlee had made a gingerbread house over the weekend at Grandma’s, and she wanted to be part of the fun. So she sat on top eating part of the house!

NIGHT 5: Snowflake got stuck! Oh no!

NIGHT 6: Snowflake was having some fun with the candy canes from the tree. She even wrapped up her own little box to sit in!

NIGHT 7: This was by far one of my favorite things Snowflake did this year. It’s story time!! On a side note, which made it even more hilarious, was that Ashlee insists on having her babies lying face down on the floor all the time. It’s the first thing she does when she gets home or gets up in the morning…she always has to take her babies and lay them on the ground. Usually covered with dish towels as “blankies”. When she got up on this particular morning, she was so upset because “Snowflake stole her babies. They are supposed to be sleeping Mom!” Eventually mom set Snowflake on the counter so Ashlee could have a babies back. Jeff even got a kick out of this one!

NIGHT 8: Snowflake was playing with the slinky and got a little “hung up”.

NIGHT 9: My mom and I had taken the girls to the “Polar Express Train” in Madison this night. It didn’t get done until late and needless to say the girls were pretty crabby. We went to the gift shop and Kahlen was SO upset that she didn’t get a camera as a souvenir. We told them that they could pick one toy each. Ashlee wanted the camera (I didn’t want to get two of them, especially since I knew they would be forgotten the next day when Kahlen had her birthday party). Kahlen picked something else, and absolutely threw a 6-year old tantrum. Pouting, being mean, not listening, etc. etc. Anyone who has kids knows exactly what I’m talking about. Well, I ended up feeling guilty (I know, right?!) and had my mom go back and sneakily get another camera for Kahlen. But we all know that when Snowflake went to the North Pole that night, she got the camera and brought it back and wrapped it for her to open on her “birthday party” day. She also left a nice little note for Kahlen to read, which included that she should apologize to Grandma and mom for being a meanie 😉

NIGHT 10: Kahlen had her birthday party this day and Snowflake missed out on all the fun! She wanted some cake too! In the morning she didn’t believe that Snowflake was actually drinking the pop. “Mom, the can doesn’t even have pop in there, it’s just pretending to drink it.” So we told her to touch the can and yes indeed, there was pop in there. “Oh my gosh Mom, she really IS drinking it!!!”photo

NIGHT 11: WATER FIGHT!! The barbies captured Snowflake and trapped her to the wall! There were two barbies in the car with a squirt gun, and one on a horse trying to get away! (note that her hands are tied and there’s duck tape over her mouth!) I think Snowflake lost the water fight battle! Maybe next time…..

NIGHT 16 & 17: Mom and dad were at a wedding. The girls were at Grandma’s house so Snowflake got a couple nights off. No traveling for her! 🙂
